NOVOS Supplement Slows Aging, Extends Lifespan in Newcastle University Study

About The Study
The study was conducted at Newcastle University’s Biosciences Institute, by Dr. Thomas von Zglinicki (43,350 citations), professor of Cellular Gerontology, and Dr. Satomi Miwa (10,006 citations), lecturer on Translational Biology of Ageing.
The study compared the anti-aging efficacy of NOVOS Core to an injected senolytic drug combination previously known to extend mouse lifespan (positive control), and to no treatment (negative control), in 38 male mice. The older mice, aged 20 months at the start, were divided into three groups: negative control (“C”), dietary supplement (“DS”, NOVOS Core), and senolytic (“SEN”). The supplement was administered daily, while the senolytic treatment involved two rounds of injected administration at 20 and 23 months. Frailty and cognitive function were assessed every two months.

Why This Study is a Game-Changer
Senolytics have garnered significant investment and optimism in the longevity space, with many researchers seeing them as a potentially revolutionary intervention. These compounds target and clear out senescent cells—aging cells that cause inflammation and can contribute to diseases and decline. Despite their promise, the use of senolytics comes with concerns about potential side effects, given that some senescent cells may at times play protective roles in the body.
In this study, NOVOS Core achieved similar lifespan extensions to a prescription R&D senolytic treatment, which was included in the study as the positive control because of its drugs’ previously known lifespan extending effects. NOVOS Core delivered these impressive results by targeting all twelve of the Mechanisms of Aging, and when it comes to senescent cells, via a gentler, yet effective approach: by exhibiting senostatic effects. This means that the NOVOS Core formula slowed down the formation and reduced the size of senescent cells rather than eliminating them. This approach aligns with emerging research suggesting that not all senescent cells are harmful. In fact, some may serve protective functions, and removing them could potentially cause harm. While the study focused on lifespan in mice, the implications for humans go far beyond just living longer.
