Summary of Fitness Results at 40.5 Years Young

Having just completed a 5k race (The Palm Beach Turkey Trot) and achieving 2nd place for my age bracket and 14th out of 1,303, I thought it would be a good time to share some of my latest fitness stats. I try to balance cardio, speed, strength, and power. When you consider my PRs in each of the exercises, how young I was for many of them, and how achieving some are at odds with each other (e.g., cardio vs. power), I would say that I am currently in the most balanced, peak shape of my life.

RUNNING
1-mile pace: 5:34 (PR: 5:30, 20 years old)
5k time (3.15 miles): 20:23 (6:33 /mile)
10k time (6.3 miles): 42:27 (6:50 /mile)

LIFTING
Deadlift: 475 lbs 1RM (no belt; PR: 525 lbs, 31 years old)
Bench Press: 305 lbs (no assistance; PR: 335 lbs, 22 years old)
Pull-ups: 35 continuous reps (PR: 54, 30 years old)
Dips: 50 continuous dips (PR: 55, 20 years old)
